Dunedin Brewery Oktobeerfest Starts Thursday

Solve this mathematical equation:

October + Beer =

If you got Oktobeerfest, you get an A+. The annual four-day celebration starts this Thursday, October 4th, at Dunedin Brewery. Once again, you’ll find great beer, great food, and great music awaiting you.

THURSDAY: LITERSTEIN HERITAGE NIGHT

And litersteins. Don’t forget litersteins! This is your only opportunity all year to get the new DunBrew stein that holds a liter of your beverage of choice. If you get yours, all year long you can bring it in for a refill at a great discount. They are available Thursday and will be available until they sell out, which is very quickly.

The sale begins at 7 PM. At 8, the Paul Childers Band takes the stage, bringing their blend of soul, R&B and pop from Nashville.

FRIDAY

Friday begins the way every Friday begins at DunBrew, with the remarkable DJ 45Revolver at 5 PM. His name tells you exactly what he does: he spins great 45s from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. Hardest-working DJ in show business.

S.P.O.R.E. takes the outdoor stage at 9. These gentlemen play amazing prog rock. It’s worth noting that two of them — Alex Sears and Joe Knobel — are DunBrew employees as well.

The Reality offers up their “History of Funk” review at 11. This simply brims with promise. Try imagining what they can stuff into two hours of funk!

SATURDAY

The winners of Creative Loafing’s Best Jam Band title, Uncle John’s Band, open the day-long festivities at 2 PM. Sonic Stew, the excellent new vehicle for Dennis Stadelman and friends, play at 5. Ajeva stops by in the midst of their big fall tour to drop some funk on us at 9, followed by DunBrew regulars The Heavy Pets, the south Florida jam kings (11 PM).

SUNDAY

The DeLeon Family Oktobeerfest Band takes the stage at 3 PM, and that will go on until, well, everybody is done.
