Blues Sax Phenom Vanessa Collier Continues Fall Tour, Plays Hurricane Relief Show

Fiery blues saxophone player and vocalist Vanessa Collier is halfway through her extensive fall tour, with four shows in the Midwest starting tonight in Lincoln at Zoo Bar, then on to Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Ralston, Nebraska. Then she hops to Florida for five shows and one in Montgomery, Alabama.

After several shows near her home base of Philadelphia, Collier will play Bourbon Street — in Sao Paolo, Brazil! And she’s on board the Legendary Rhythm & Blues Cruise again in February.

Of special note is her appearance at Forgotten Music Festival on Saturday, November 3rd. She is one of five artists on the bill for this a Benefit for the Victims of Hurricane Michael, on the grounds of the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village, 4323 Commons Drive West, in Destin. Gates open at 11 am. This festival was originally scheduled for Mexico Beach, which was almost completed wiped off the map when Michael roared through. Great community effort on short notice effected the move to Destin.

Collier’s mix of soul, funk, blues, and R&B have shocked major players wherever she gets on stage. Her third album, Honey Up, was released in July. Her tireless energy and massive chops have been lighting up concert and festival stages for five years. In addition to her singing and saxophone playing, she is a songwriter and also plays guitar!

Collier “blew the doors off the Blues Music Awards!” And that’s according to the Blues Foundation! Go check out what all the buzz is about!
