Voodoo Visionary: On a Mission

Everybody ought to have a mission in life. Five young men from Atlanta certain do. Their mission statement is:

We gon’ put tha ’oogie in yo boogie.

Succinctly stated, Voodoo Visionary! These guys play what they call “improvisational funk dance music,” and if you’ve ever seen them do their thing on stage, then you know that is 100% accurate. They have two outstanding albums to their credit: Spirit of the Groove (2015) and Off the Ground (2017).

They have been touring and playing festivals regularly, and their new tour kicks off Friday, November 30th, at The Pour House Music Hall in Raleigh; it is also an album release party for Travers Brothership. Voodoo Visionary’s New Year’s run begins December 28th at the One Stop at the Asheville Music Hall and the next night at Preservation Pub in Knoxville. And they’ll ring in 2019 at The Whiskey in Wilmington, North Carolina. The theme for the night is “Songs in the Key of Purple,” as the band will feature music from Stevie Wonder and Prince!
