The Groove Orient Take a Northeast Run, New Album Due Soon

The Groove Orient made a big splash before the turn of 2019 with several big shows, including their Suwannee Hulaween debut, an appearance at the Chucktown Turkey Bowl, and their X-mas Rager. They are also preparing to release their first full-length album (test pressing just arrived Tuesday).

The Orlando quintet are filling their calendar as we speak, with a four-date swing through the Northeast supporting Hayley Jane & the Primates first and foremost. Watch this space for information when the album is released!

The Groove Orient are: Harry Ong, bass, vocals; Tommy Shugart, Hammond B3 organ, keyboards, guitar, vocals; Chuck Magid, guitars, vocals; David Vanegas, percussion, bass, vocals; and Aaron “Bucky” Buckingham, drums, vocals.

When they claim that “The Groove Orient is a high-energy five-piece rock’n’roll band with heavy influences in jazz and blues,” you should believe them. But prove it to yourself by checking them out!
