The Motet: Jam Cruise, Winter Tour, Red Rocks and More
Ten days off was enough. The Motet are back after their great New Year’s run in the Northeast. This funk mob picks up where they left off — spreading the funk far and wide — with two shows this Friday and Saturday in their home state of Colorado: Belly Up, Aspen in Aspen and Club Red in Telluride. And Joey Porter‘s Juno What? has a gig Thursday at Mile High Spirits in Denver.
Then the septet jumps on Jam Cruise 17 for six (yep, it’s expanded) days floating around in the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. They play the Stardust Lounge on sail-away day and the pool deck on the 19th. Lyle Divinsky has a gig in the Atrium, Dave Watts hosts the Jam Room, and Drew Sayers plays Bliss Lounge late-night during the cruise.
There are four dates out west, then a three-night run with Galactic in the Northeast. The Motet then pairs up with John Medeski’s Mad Skillet for four shows on the West Coast. In March, after a pair of nights at Crystal Bay Club in Nevada, they head to the Southeast for six more shows.
The Motet plays Red Rocks with Galactic and Moon Hooch in July, and they are scheduled to play Backwoods at Mulberry Mountain and FloydFest as their festival card starts to fill up.
