Unicorns Unite: A Celebration of Community Through Art and Music
It is always encouraging seeing inaugural regional and local festivals popping up across the country, especially in brand new places. One such is Unicorns Unite, an effort in the Tampa Bay area. We’ll let Este Loves, the woman behind this effort (with many others!) explain:
Mythical creatures and divine creators, our time has come to gather together! You have been invited to the inaugural dance where the Unicorns Unite! This is a special volunteer-for-invitation-only event where we can celebrate together through music and art under the mystical magic of the trees and stars. In this time of community celebration, we will plant the seeds for generations more of love and creation.
In the mystery of the forest where we gather, we can be our full selves… be free and let your colors shine! Like the troubadours of old, we will move about dusty paths, sharing songs and dancing, twisting sound and light and hope and spirit to raise the vibrations of this world and make a home for ourselves. Together, we will prepare feasts to share, because sharing food is what we do at home. Throughout the day and into the evening, those who channel music will perform special sets of the songs that bring us to life. Together, elders and younglings, Unicorns and Vikings, poets and painters, laborers and laymen will be sharing a space called home in the Mystical Forests on the coast of Florida.
In this seminal gathering, we come together in newness. Although many of us have gathered together for years, this will be our first time coming together with the intention of dancing in this particular fashion. Our theme is love and acceptance and learning, and more so than ever, we must make time to grow as one. Everyone attending will be asked to help in some way. This is not a party someone is putting together for the community to enjoy but rather a reunion for the community to build together. If celebrating with intention in the comfort of best friends old and new is your hope, look no further. You’ve been invited Home.
In addition to being a community gathering, this event is a fundraiser for the development of a Florida Music and Arts Eco Village.
The intention is clear, the love is abundant, and the music magical.
And speaking of music, it begins Friday, November 9th, at 2 PM and will conclude Sunday whenever Trey Miller and the Blübop Blügrass Jamsters finally drop from exhaustion. Here is the schedule:
