Fort Rock 2019 Has Been Cancelled
For music festival-goers in Florida, the hits keep on coming. After recent announcements that the Okeechobee, Wanee and Sunshine Music Festivals would not return or were put on hiatus, the news that Fort Rock Music Festival being cancelled for 2019 has been announced.
The Fort Rock Music Festival had relocated from Fort Myers’ JetBlue Park to Markham Park in Sunrise just one year ago. After finding great success at JetBlue Park, the festival had outgrown the venue, which can hold crowds of up to 15,000 fans. The move to Markham Park in Broward County allowed the festival some breathing room because it can max out at 60,000 people.
“Fort Rock is not happening in 2019 and we have no further information to share. At this time, there are no plans for the festival to return.” from an emailed statement to MusicFestNews by Kristine Ashton-Magnuson, publicist for Danny Wimmer Presents.

As of today, the Fort Rock website has not been updated and has last year’s event information, the same for the official Facebook page. Perhaps once the pages are updated additional information regarding cancellation will be available.
Fort Rock’s sister festival Welcome to Rockville just announced their lineup for 2019. That music festival takes place in Jacksonville and shared many of the same acts in 2018 such as Ozzy Osbourne, Godsmack, Stone Temple Pilots and others with Fort Rock.
The recent news of AEG’s allegations that Danny Wimmer had “divorced” himself from the business arrangement with AEG is being handled in Los Angeles Superior Court. AEG alleges that Wimmer shut down the two festivals the companies had been working on together and relaunched new competing festivals under Wimmer’s sole ownership. Whether or not this has any bearing on Fort Rock we won’t know until an official announcement is made. But both Danny Wimmer Presents and AEG Presents were dually involved in Fort Rock.
