The Fritz: Original Soul-Driven Dance Rock

The Fritz are set to embark on their Winter 2019 tour, beginning Thursday, January 24th, with the first of three shows in their home state of North Carolina, the first one at Boone Saloon. After their show in Tampa 11.30.18, I scribbled:
Let me float this out there: there is no better funk band anywhere than The Fritz. Don’t bother to change my mind. I didn’t say best; I said there are none better than they. And no more engaging front man than Jamar Woods. Don’t bother changing my mind about that, either. And they really tore it up at Suwannee Hulaween. Why they haven’t been on Jam Cruise is a mystery to me.
And, if you want to talk about totally funkified insanity, how about nine dates together with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, those Baltimore funkmeisters? That’s deeper than deep. Their first show together is in Charlottesville at The Jefferson Theater, and from there they hit Norfolk, Asheville, Raleigh, and The Charleston Pour House before four more dates in Florida.
After a brief break, The Fritz head back to Colorado for three shows, followed by two in Texas. And two dates on the run will see the band paired with Voodoo Visionary, more great funkateers from Atlanta. And they’ve added four shows in the Northeast in March, with more likely to pop up.
The Fritz are: Jamar Woods [keyboard and vocals], Jamie Hendrickson [guitar], Jake O’ Connor [bass], Michael Tillis [drums], and Mike “Mikey Spice” Evans [percussion].
