After a stellar day one, the second installment of BeachLife Festival was filled with new and young acts combined with legends. Once again the weather was perfect, highs in the low 70s with plenty of sunshine, cuisine, and libations.

Orange County natives Berlin opened up day two on the High Tide Stage playing all their hits spanning over the past 40 years. Lead vocalist Terri Nunn still has an incredible voice and had the crowd on their feet early and throughout the set.
Next on the Low Tide stage, another Orange county native, Sugar Ray (Mark McGrath), 30 plus years playing music, rocked the crowd, playing all his hits including “Fly.”
Everclear
Up next on High Tide stage were SoCal natives Everclear, continuing the early trend of SoCal Old School rock as they had the energetic crowd dancing and sing their hits of the past.

Best Coast
Up next on the Low Tide Stage were local favorites Best Coast, a duo formed on 2009 with Bethany Cosentine, vocals and guitarist, and Bobb Bruno, guitarist and multi-instrumentalist. This band had the crowd cheering for more, more, more, my first time hearing this band. I highly recommend you check them out if you can.

Dawes
Back to Low Tide stage, Dawes from LA, a quartet formed in 2009, were up next: brothers Taylor, vocals, guitar, and Griffin, drums, with Wylie Gelber and Lee Padini. Their musical style has been compared to Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. Taylor’s energy across the stage flowed into the crowd and had everyone singing and dancing in the sand.

One more trek back to the Low Tide stage for Jason Mraz, San Diego native and two-time Grammy award-winner, who had a capacity crowd. They knew and sang all his songs religiously. Heavily skewed women-to-men ratio… great set!
