Hear That? It’s Green Mountain, Beckoning You to Soulshine Farm Music Festival

The Soulshine Farm Music Festival returns for the fifth time to Green Mountain NC August 9th through the 11th. This beautiful location is just northeast of Asheville, and once again three stages will bring you more than 30 bands over the three days.

Soulshine has released the daily schedule, and it’s loaded. Let’s take a look:

THURSDAY

Hustle Souls kick the fest off in style at 4 PM. Music bounces back and forth between the Shine Stage and Sawmill. You’ll hear Jerry Leeman and Emma’s Lounge. Then things really take off, with Florida rockers Come Back Alice and jamtronic wizards Broccoli Samurai from Cleveland. Then you’ve got two late-night options. We say catch them both: equal portions of madness from Dr. Bacon and from Screaming Js.

FRIDAY

Now music begins at 11 AM, with the Pine Stage also in play. Come Back Alice returns for a late-night Led Zeppelin set (always killer). The Tan and Sober Gentlemen bring their Celtic punk grass to the party, and Screaming Js are back for more insanity. Brilliant flat picker Larry Keel will knock you out, as will Nikki Talley, along with Jason Sharp (and Eva!).

Also visiting Green Mountain are Big Medizen, Broke Holler, Smokey Joe & South Toe Syndicate, Uncle Kurtis, Love Cannon, Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues, Black Sea Beat Society, Letters to Abigail, and Resonant Rogues. And a dance party and a family movie are also on the schedule.

And there is a fourth stage — the Legendary Mac Arnold Stage — with Hypnotic Conquest and David Wiseman.

SATURDAY

You’ve made it to Saturday. Brace yourself! This one is special. Look no further than late-night hosts Particle, the incredible jamtronic quartet celebrating 18 years on the scene. Screaming Js hit the trifecta, and powerhouse Empire Strikes Brass will show you just how brassy they can be. There is more amazing music, especially Urban Soil’s wonderful roots-rock. Town Mountain, Typical Mountain Boys, and the great Ralph Roddenbery will also delight.

Phuncle Sam, Bald Mountain Boys, Paper Crowns Band, Dirty Dead, Sugar Daddy, Electric Soul Pandemic, and the Ali Randolph Band fill out your dance card for Saturday. There’s another family movie, and get ready for the costume party!
