The BIG Something boys have been busy getting all their ducks in a row for the next edition of The BIG What? August 16-18 at Shakori Hills Community Arts Center in Pittsboro NC. The three-day festival is loaded with great music from across North Carolina, the Southeast, and the U.S.

Your hosts from Burlington will play each night, but wait! There’s more! On Thursday (August 16th), you’ll also hear Mr. What? — a great collab with BS and Mister. In addition to their regular Saturday set, you get BIG Who? as well, with BS playing the music of The Who.

There are returning bands and new faces dotting the lineup. Let’s look at it day by day:

THURSDAY

Consider the Source returns after their masterful performance and clinic at the 2017 edition. The NYC trio weave . The Scott Moss Band and Treehouse! also join the party. Madmen Dr. Bacon are slated for late night, and then there’s the Mystery Late Night Band? Who will it be?

FRIDAY

Sunsquabi is back as well after their magical electronic-hydro-funk late-night show last year. Corey Wong has the late-night slot this year, and again there might be another Mystery Late Night Band? The Southern Belles bring their rock from Virginia, and Joe Hertler & the Rainbow Seekers also join the party. Add Lazer/Wulf, Emma’s Lounge, and South Hill Banks, and you’ve got a blockbuster day of music!

SATURDAY

The last day is a total beast. In addition to the two BIG Something sets, TAUK brings their brilliant fusion from New York. Georgia will import some excellent funk and rock in the form of Voodoo Visionary and Funk You. Groove Fetish heads west from Wilmington, and Florida sends subset funksters Come Back Alice to the party. Becca Stevens and Mister are also on the schedule, and The Kind Thieves have the last word with their late-night set.
